I wanted to send an email in support of my daughters coach - Geneva Winterink. 

 Our daughter was on her original U8 team many years ago and she has stayed through this season as a U14.   She has been a tremendous part of her life for 7 years and has been a big part of what makes her who she is both in sports and life.

 [Our daughter] has learned to be a leader, to own her actions, to inspire and to be herself.  Our daughter is a multi-sport athlete and is often called out for her commitment, her drive, her sportsmanship and her respect for the opposing team and officials.   We are certain that her years with such a wonderful female role model has been critical in development of those attributes. 

Geneva has taught her to be gritty but respectful, strong-minded but coachable and above all else she put a willfulness in [our daughter] to push forward no matter what obstacles might stand in the way.   

There are several girls on the current U14 team who have been on board since the original team and I hope Geneva is very proud of her contribution in building exceptional young athletes as well as confident young women.   Without a doubt, Geneva's role as her coach has kept her coming back to soccer year over year. 

Last year, our team went all the way to Ontario cup semi's (we hope to go all the way this year!) and won Team of the Year.
