RECREATIONAL PROGRAM TYPES:

The Club is offering two different recreational programs for select ages. There will continue to be the traditional program which focuses on a basic game. There will also be an enhanced option which focuses on player development, combined with a game. No matter which program is selected, the player will also have the option to register for the skills sessions on Friday evenings, as an add-on program.

Please see further details below.

STANDARD MODEL "TRADITIONAL RECREATIONAL"

The Oshawa Kicks Soccer Club offers players born U5-U16 a traditional recreational soccer program that runs once a week.  Players will be rostered to a team with a parent volunteer coach.  Each week players will have a brief warm-up followed by a game. This program is great for all skill levels and focuses on fostering a fun, team atmosphere.

LEARNING MODEL "RECREATIONAL DEVELOPMENT"

The Oshawa Kicks Soccer Club offers a second option for a Recreational Development program for players born between 2017 and 2012 (U7-U12).  This program offers a learning and skill development focus through a weekly 20-to-22-minute skill session (approximate timing) led by experienced staff technical coaches, players will participate in this skill session with the team they are rostered to. A game then follows this technical session. Each week, the players will learn a rule of the game as well as a skill that players can then apply in the game. This program is great for players who show a stronger passion for the sport and want to increase their skills each week. In this program, they will grow their game, work with Club coaches, and be better prepared to aspire to different levels as they progress.

FUNdamentals Soccer

The Oshawa Kicks Soccer Club offers a Fundamental soccer program for players age U3 & U4.  This program focuses on physical literacy, basic introduction to soccer through the use of fun and interactive drills led by junior staff coaches.  On field parent support is recommended for players in the first few weeks of the program.

All Abilities Soccer

The Oshawa Kicks is proud to offer the 12 session, All Abilities program to all of our members. This is an inclusive, soccer based program for children, youth and adults with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. Encouraging fun and fitness with engaging activities that promote independence, self-confidence which allows athletes to develop physically, socially, and personally within a fun, soccer focused team environment. We encourage athletes to use any assisted device they may require to participate to their full potential (walkers, wheelchairs, guides, etc).

Player Development – 1 Session per week (Friday evenings)

The Oshawa Kicks Skill Enhancement Sessions are an optional program add-on for recreational players.  These sessions utilize the LONG-TERM PLAYER DEVELOPMENT standards set by the Ontario Soccer Association and Canada Soccer. Skill Enhancement sessions are led by Oshawa Kick's trained technical development staff.  This is a weekly program add-on for players looking to improve their skills, get extra touches, and advance on-field elements such as:
