March 18th, 2024 - Oshawa, ON. Owen Barker will be continuing his athletic and academic journey with Ontario Tech University!

Owen recently announced his commitment to the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks Men's Soccer Team!

A crucial member of the Oshawa Kicks 2006 Boys Team, Owen played an important role in the Team's accomplishments winning the 2022 A.C. Douglas Tournament in Niagara Falls, 2022 IModel C2 Champions, 2023 Frank Sobil Spring Classic Champions, 2023 New York City Cup Champions, and an impressive second place finish at the 2023 Desert Super Cup in Arizona.

Here's what the Oshawa Kicks 2006 Boys Coach, Jordon Hargrave had to say about Owen:

"I've had the pleasure of coaching Owen for three seasons now, and ever since he joined the team, he has brought an extremely high level of consistency and worth ethic, to go along with an abundance of talent. 

Amongst the qualities listed above, Owen is one of the most selfless players I've had the pleasure of coaching. He never questions his role and always has the best interests of the team in mind. I have no doubt that Owen is going to have a great career at Ontario Tech 

They are not only getting a phenomenal player on the field, but they are getting a phenomenal young man off the field."
