January 12th, 2024 - Rome, Italy. The Oshawa Kicks are thrilled to share the news that Avery Grange has committed to the Rome City Institute in Rome, Italy!

Avery first joined the Oshawa Kicks in 2013. After two years, he was scouted by the 2005 Boys Rep team where he skillfully represented the Kicks until 2021. Avery made a name for himself playing  all over Canada and USA with the Athlete Institute Football Club's U19 and U21 teams.

Avery has now been offered a three year scholarship with the Rome City Institute where he will be studying Sports Management.

Here's what Avery had to say:

"I’ve grown to realize that every athlete follows a unique path towards their greatest achievements. While experiences and teams may constantly change through the years, I believe there’s one thing an athlete will never forget - where it all began. My home club will always be Oshawa Kicks, as it is, and has been, for so many other great soccer players. My time at Kicks was not only crucial to my player development, but more importantly to my personal development. The various teams I played on within the OKSC provided for some of my best lifelong friendships, and taught me the fundamentals of being in a team environment and playing a team sport. I will always be grateful for my time with Oshawa Kicks and I hope to help to inspire those who are just as passionate for the game as I am. I would like to thank those who believed in me from the beginning. My coaches, Andre Paul, Frank Iantomasi and Andre Fotev."

Please join us in congratulating Avery on this amazing achievement, we are so proud of his hard work and determination.

Best of luck in Rome, Avery!
